Transforming Lives

The Community Food Network works to build a healthier community by feeding individuals & families – combating food scarcity in dignified, choice-based grocery shopping experiences. We strive to empower a healthy community with both food and education to support well-being.

Our school supply closet ensures students have the supplies that will make them successful in the classroom. This alleviates the financial burden on the teachers so they can focus on what is most important – providing children with a quality education.
Community Unites in the Garden is an initiative to help bring fresh produce into the community. Dedicated volunteers plant, tend and harvest a variety of produce. It then is distributed to members of our community including single parents, senior citizens, and families.

Here at Community Unites, we pack backpacks for our local schools with healthy, easy-to-prepare food for kids to enjoy on weekends and during school breaks. $100 feeds a child for the entire school year.

The Christmas in Clio program was founded by Community Unites to help local families and seniors in need during the holiday season. This event gives families the opportunity to personally shop for new gifts for their children. Families and seniors also receive food and necessities, relieving some of the pressures of the holidays.
Upward™ Sports is more than just a game,
it’s developing a child’s ability to thrive and succeed in all they do – mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially. No one is turned away due to financial hardship.
our mission

Community Unites mission is to work alongside the residents of our community to help equip and empower our under-resourced neighbors. We focus on developing initiatives based on community engagement and resources to move from scarcity to stability. Our model replaces handouts and charity with meaningful involvement, collaboration, and relationships.
